Carpe Diem was a French progressive rock band active throughout the 1970s. Originating in Nice under the name Deis Corpus—a group initially focused on covering Jethro Tull and King Crimson—they eventually transformed into Carpe Diem, embracing the motto “Seize the day!” By 1973, the band had developed a fully original repertoire, blending a variety of progressive rock influences with elements of jazz and classical music. With support from Jean-Pierre Massiera, they secured a record deal two years later. Carpe Diem released two albums before disbanding in 1979.
